what's out there i didn't plant this year?

sort of a kicked-back sunday afternoon so i went for a wander around the back jungle to take an informal inventory of usable plants that i didn't actually plant this year...volunteers so to speak...i really didn't find many and the big surprise of the year which was the grape tree wasn't likely to be outdone...but i have some time to kill...there are multiple lamb's quarters out there...and while they are not restricted to the jerusalem artichoke beds, there does seem to be an affinity between the two plants...wherever i have grown sunchokes i have found lamb's quarters springing up...i suspect the same will hold true next season in the community garden...the chamomile in the second and third photos are all volunteer plants and a few of the stands have come up in places where they were not originally planted so the seeds have migrated in some fashion...i did realize i had something of an issue out there as i walked about...this past spring i cut down a tree and cleared some feral rose bushes and wild raspberries ( my favorite thorn! )then turned in a few hundred pounds of compost to make the potato bed...that built up the height of the bed and now it is eroding...that is actually a sidewalk between the rocks and the bricks in the fourth photo but it will have weeds growing in it soon if i don't do something...i suppose i could just dump in more compost and level it out to create more plant space...but something in the back of my head is telling me that would not be well received in some quarters...so i imagine i will be taking measurements and going to the lumberyard for 2 X12s to manufacture some sort of containment for the soil...more on that later.
