changes III

went to campus early to water the wheat and green manure seeds in the sweet corn bed and had a look around...the hopi blue continues to ripen and change color...it's september and that's about right...but one of the tillers has begun to flower ( second photo )in an obvious attempt at stringing the season out a bit further...not sanguine about its chances...the third photo isof the stand of northern tepehuan teosinte on the south side of the hopi blue bed...it is flowering as well which is about on schedule for its much longer season...the teosinte in my back yard flowered in august and i am hoping for seed ears there, if not mature seeds...the yellow peas ( fourth photo ) still look remarkably alien to me..i carefully harvested over a pint of strawberries just yesterday and already there seem to be more ripe berries in the bed...that season is everbrearing...last photo is of broccoli seed pods...i will be grabbing some when they mature to plant next season and see what comes up.
