saturday maintenance II
some of the hard red winter wheat seed i ordered came in this week so after i finished putting the green manures in the center of the sweet corn/potato bed i took a handful of the seeds and started a small stand of wheat on each end of the bed...the can act as a reservoir for the nitrogen the rhizobia set ...or we can let them go on and mature...not a really practical amount of wheat as far as food production goes...but it could be ornamental and symbolic...make that decision when the time comes...but i am notorious for letting things be once they become established.
