tree grape harvest

out on the ladder before 7 a.m. because there may be rain and i did not want to be up a tree in that...there was a considerable amount of low hanging fruit around the tree ( top two photos...you can tell it was early because the flash insisted on going off ) buried in the dense brush of evergreens, catalpa trees, elm tree, rouge jerusalem artichokes, wild raspberry ( my favorite kind of thorn ), and whatever else has taken root out there...after the easy stuff i got up on a ten foot ladder and collected what i could reach ( third and fourth photos ) but even with a ten foot ladder there was still ample fruit out of reach (fifth photo )...so the birds will still have a share of the vines produce...the last photo is of the haul...that is a half bushel basket, a five gallon bucket, and a box containing what is getting on to a full bushel of grapes...the next project is concord grape jelly...there will be sharing.___________________________________________________after removing the grapes from the stems they weighed in at 23 pounds 7 3/4 ounces
