the yams need more space
the chinese yams had overrun the trellis so i put in another post about two feet over from the end of the original trellis, strung some more twine ( jute ), and turned the corner...they had latched onto more of the wheat grass as well so i unwound the vine and put it back on the trellis....i am impressed by the robustness of the yam vines this season because ( as i have said more times than you care to count ) they are first season plant sprouted from aerial bulbs i missed last fall...the fourth photo is of some perennials...from left to right, chinese yams, intermediate wheat grass, and asparagus...the vottom phot is the pgp about seven fifteen this morning...things look well...more on the gamagrass later.
