frost advisory
the national weather service has put out a frost advisory for the area tonight so in between social obligations i drove over to campus to take some protective measures...most of the plants in the pgp laugh at frost but the teosinte is sub-tropical and i am unsure of its cold-hardiness so i covered it with frost cloth which i have pressed a volunteer into removing tomorrow morning...the second chinese yam has found the rudimentary trellis i put in saturday...no doubt because it is the only game in town right now...the trellis will expand as they grow...i went over to the community garden when i was finished over by hawthorn and put some frost cloth on the strawberry bed as well...it may or may not frost but this is too much work and worry to be cavalier about...i am having a good time but this is serious business.
an ex- industrial worker ( the continued automation of jobs, condensing of ownership, plant closings, trade wars, and degradation of living standards here has rendered me a former industrial worker...now just part-time lumpen proletariat) and university student (everyone needs a hobby...my hobbies have evolved and, to keep things straight, i have left my formal student career behind for reasons that are too detailed to delve into here...continuing to be a student of life however and not adverse to learning...stasis is death ) sliding down the back side of middle age...a social loner with collectivist leanings...explain that.
